The Playable Future Blueprint

An operational framework for climate-proofing community football infrastructure and tournament legacy investment.

Football is the most shared cultural activity on the planet, and it's already feeling the impact of the climate crisis. Extreme weather is increasingly disrupting where, when and how the game is played, placing community clubs and grassroots pitches under disproportionate strain.

The Playable Future Blueprint is Football For Future's operational framework for climate-proofing community football infrastructure and tournament legacy investment, giving football's organising bodies a repeatable, end-to-end model to integrate climate-risk safeguards across the lifecycle of grassroots football developments.

The Blueprint sets out:

  • 3 Funding Tracks - New Developments, Facility Upgrades, Resilience Fund

  • 6 Lifecycle Phases - Fund, Design, Source, Empower, Measure, Share

  • The Playable Future Model, applying the phases across the tracks for governing bodies, tournament organisers and national associations

Football For Future is a non-profit organisation with a mission to drive global climate action through football culture.

Partners : Jupiter Intelligence, Columbia University (MS in Sustainability Management), CO2 Foundation, Count Us In.
