Something special happened the other week.

With the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Canada, Mexico and the United States around the corner, we hosted the first football and climate event at Climate Week NYC in history - and launched Pitches in Peril, a new climate risk analysis ahead of the tournament, including record breaking fan insights and advocacy from professional men's players.

From global sportswear brands to grassroots organisations, from World Cup host committees to community leaders, the energy in the room was electric. FFF Founder Elliot Arthur-Worsop was joined by Rich Sorkin, CEO, and Kevin Cei, Head of Solutions Architecture, both from Jupiter Intelligence.

Our aim was to make the climate conversation relatable, connect leaders in North America, platform inspirational voices, connect new friends… and to provide a fresh take on what a climate event can look like.

Following the event, we hosted an informal drinks catch-up in SoHo, Manhattan with friends across football to discuss big ideas around sustainability. We had the pleasure of being joined by Jessie Fleming, Captain of the Canadadian Women’s National Team, alongside others driving change in the game.

We hope everyone had a good time and enjoyed the conversations, music, coffees and freestyle football.

Thanks go to Jupiter Intelligence for hosting us and our partners Common Goal with who we feel privileged to keep breaking barriers with.

We’ve got work to do!
