Football For Future delivers sustainability workshop to West Ham United Foundation
Football For Future (FFF) were delighted to work with West Ham United Foundation recently to deliver a climate-focused educational workshop for staff, supporting the launch of their environmental sustainability policy and action plan.
The workshops were delivered by FFF’s Education and Training Team as part of the Foundation’s Continued Professional Development (CPD) sessions held at the University of East London Sports Dock. This follows the successful delivery of similar workshops for Wolves, Minute Media, and Sussex County FA.
This session served as an engaging introduction to the fundamentals of climate change, climate’s interrelationship with football, and what climate action can look like at football foundations, with the following key aims:
To improve participants’ understanding of climate change and its relationship with football
To instill more positive attitudes towards environmental sustainability
To help staff to feel empowered to take sustainable action into their personal and professional lives
To allow participants to demonstrate a greater sense of responsibility to tackle climate change, on behalf of the football industry
To encourage staff to engage in sustainable initiatives at West Ham United Foundation
Jesse Foyle, Director of Programmes at West Ham United Foundation, said:
“We found Football For Future’s workshop incredibly interesting and useful. After attending this session I think we all feel like we know far more about the links between football and the environment, and we are excited to continue to develop our sustainability journey.”
Chloe Devos, FFF Education and Training Manager, said:
"The FFF Education and Training team had a great time at West Ham United Foundation this week, delivering a session on the importance of tackling climate change and being more sustainable within football. This was delivered as part of West Ham United Foundation's CPD program, in support of kickstarting their sustainability policy for 2023."
