Grow2Know and Football For Future hold educational workshops at Nike event

Football For Future delivered their first educational workshops at a Nike Members event, run by London guerrilla gardeners Grow2Know.

The event also saw Team FFF line up against Grenfell Athletic FC for the ‘Game for Good’, which finished 3-3.

Grow2Know held a tree planting workshop, as well as a herbal remedies workshop. Attendees also had the opportunity to take part in yoga sessions.

The workshops were held outdoors at the Norland Open Space, in Shepherd’s Bush. Modules included how players can act as Climate Champions, how climate change will change the matchday experience, and looked at the interrelationship between climate change and football.

The match between Team FFF and Grenfell Athletic encouraged and highlighted the need to unify, heal and inspire our communities regarding the important social issues both groups are campaigning on.

Speaking about the event, FFF’s project leader, Joel Foreman, said:

It was a pleasure to be able to hold our educational workshops outdoors for the first time in this community space. We had a great day delivering to Nike Members, and it was great to see the work of Grow2Know in action. Seeing the tree get planted was a unique experience!”
