About Us 

Football For Future (FFF) is a not-for-profit organisation made up of climate scientists, sustainability experts and football-creatives who are building a more sustainable culture within the beautiful game. 

We do this by raising awareness of the relationship between football and the natural environment, and supporting football clubs to become more environmentally sustainable. 

The Person 

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate person to support and coordinate the social media production of an emerging not-for-profit organisation. A passion for football and sustainability are musts, and the applicant will be comfortable working within cooperative management models. An interest in news, creative methods of communication and design are important too.

As Digital Media Officer, you will be supporting the delivery of a wide-range of communication projects and helping broaden the impact and audience of the organisation. 

You will have knowledge of working on professional social media accounts, copywriting, newsletter development, graphic and video content development, and of managing staff and/or volunteers. You will understand the cultural intimacies of football, be capable of communicating to a wide and diverse audience, and recognise the powerful role of football in tackling climate change. 

The Role 

As the football industry looks to mobilise in the sustainability space, FFF’s unique position as the only charity to focus on, and offer holistic solutions to, climate change within football is attracting an increasing number of stakeholders keen to blaze an ambitious trail together. 

You will be helping communicate this goal, and be providing sector news to a wide audience. You will work with the Head of Socials across all social media channels to develop and grow the organisation's digital voice. 

Key Responsibilities 

● Content creation 

○ Support Head of Socials in the conceptualisation, production and publication of content across Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and our Newsletter.

○ Support Head of Socials in the conceptualisation, production and publication of blogs across social media, the website, and newsletters.

● Communication support 

○ Support the Heads of Department in developing communication strategies for new projects.

○ Maintain and update ToV guides for all members of staff in conjunction with the Heads of Socials and Design.

● Organisational leadership 

○ Help manage the launch of major projects across social media channels with the wider FFF team.

○ Attending weekly social team meetings, coordinating posts across all channels and developing new ideas.

Desired Capabilities 

● Experience in managing and growing social media platforms

● Experience within a team of volunteers / movements.

● Understanding of the environmental sciences, including the climate and ecological crisis. 

● Interest in the cultural and political landscape of English football.
